Rwandan Envoy Commissioned Restored PALMA House in Kano

The Rwandan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Christophe Bazivamo, and Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, have commissioned the renovated PALMA House, the first residence of colonial administrators in Kano, at the Government House premises.

The restoration, aimed at preserving the building’s original structure and historical value, features underground rooms and archival materials, including books, photographs, and files dating back over a century.

Speaking during the ceremony on Monday, Ambassador Bazivamo commended Governor Yusuf for his foresight and commitment to cultural preservation, describing the project as a milestone in safeguarding Kano’s rich heritage.

Governor Yusuf also commissioned the newly renovated Office of the Deputy Governor, a project completed by his administration.

He expressed satisfaction with the quality of work and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to preserving historical landmarks across the state.
