The Rotary Club of Karu has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for its impact in fighting corruption nationwide.
The commendation was made during a courtesy visit to the EFCC Academy in Abuja by members of Rotary District 9127.
The District Secretary, Ife James Utodio, said the EFCC has become a national symbol in the fight against financial crimes.
Utodio said young people should be educated to respect national symbols and understand the importance of integrity and accountability.

According to him, the visit was aimed at strengthening cooperation between Rotary and the EFCC in community education programmes.
Utodio said the club plans to focus on health, education, ethics and civic responsibility in its activities this year.
He added that Rotary intends to organise essay competitions for secondary school students on financial crimes and corruption.
Responding, the Acting Commandant of the EFCC Academy, Joseph Ogwiji, welcomed the Rotary delegation.
Ogwiji said both organisations share values of integrity, transparency and accountability in their efforts to build ethical communities.
He noted that prevention remains a key part of the EFCC mandate in reducing economic and financial crimes in Nigeria.
