Security analyst Dr. Hamza Talba has stirred fresh debate after claiming that the recent rise in attacks in Borno State may be politically motivated.

Talba made the claim during an interview on Daily Politics on Trust TV. He said the pattern and timing of the attacks suggest there may be more behind the violence than routine insurgency.

According to him, the attacks often increase at critical moments. He argued that some actors may be taking advantage of insecurity to pursue political goals.

Talba urged authorities to investigate the crisis more deeply rather than treating it as a routine security issue. He also called for more transparency, better intelligence coordination, and stronger accountability within the security system.

He warned that ignoring potential political factors could prolong the crisis.

His remarks have now added a new angle to the wider conversation about insecurity in Borno State and other parts of Nigeria.
