Political commentator Reno OmokriReno Omokri has questioned the timing of the recent bomb attacks in Maiduguri.
Omokri also raised concerns over calls by opposition figures for Bola Ahmed Tinubu to cancel his UK state visit.
In a statement, he described the sequence of events as suspicious and called for investigation by intelligence agencies.
He argued that terror attacks in Nigeria have often increased as election periods draw closer.

According to him, the pattern suggests that some attacks may be politically motivated rather than purely ideological.
Omokri claimed the President’s visit to the United Kingdom was a major diplomatic achievement for Nigeria.
He said some opposition figures may be uncomfortable with what he described as Tinubu’s economic and diplomatic progress.
The commentator also alleged that critics of the President reacted too quickly after the Maiduguri bombings.
He said their calls for the state visit to be cancelled created suspicion about the timing of their responses.
Omokri urged security and intelligence agencies to investigate whether any link exists between the attackers and political actors.
He, however, did not provide evidence directly linking opposition figures to the Maiduguri explosions.
The bomb attacks in Maiduguri had earlier triggered national concern and condemnation from political leaders across party lines.
The statement adds to growing political reactions surrounding the security situation and the President’s foreign engagement.
