Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, has said he possesses all the qualities needed to succeed the current Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

Pantami made this known during a recent interview with BBC Hausa, where he highlighted his achievements and experience in public service.

He explained that he served as Director-General and later as Minister, during which he successfully delivered on the eight cardinal tasks assigned to his office.

According to him, his performance was recognized by several national and international organizations, including the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, KPMG, and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, which he said acknowledged his performance at 173 percent.

Pantami also stated that during his tenure, he introduced 23 policies, implemented key reforms, and helped reduce and maintain affordable data costs in Nigeria.

He added that after leaving office, many people from Gombe State approached him and appealed to him to contest for governor based on his track record.

“I empowered Gombe youth and brought more than 200 training and intervention programs to the good people of Gombe State,” he said.

Pantami further said he believes he can build on the incumbent governor’s current achievements if given the mandate.

He listed his major priorities to include attracting foreign direct investment, human empowerment and development, and industrialization.

“These are my cardinal pillars when given the mandate,” he said.

Pantami expressed confidence that his experience and leadership would bring more development and opportunities to the people of Gombe State.
