During a Tafsir session today, Isa Ali Pantami stressed the need to establish a media station of national and international standards in Northern Nigeria.
He said the media station should broadcast in English, French, and other global languages. According to him, this will help correct negative narratives, remove stereotypes, and present the region’s true image to the world.
Prof. Pantami explained that building such important institutions is, in some cases, more necessary than building new places of worship, especially in areas where mosques are already in short supply.
He said that strong media platforms can protect people’s image, promote development, and give the region a global voice.
Many people agree with his message. However, some believe the main challenge is a lack of readiness and commitment. They said it may take many years before the region can build such a media station on its own.
They added that the vision may come to fruition sooner if a wealthy individual or organization decides to support the project.
Observers say such a media station could help change global perception and promote unity and understanding.
