Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has strongly condemned reports of sexual assault involving young girls during the Alue-Do festival in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.

She described the incident as disturbing and completely unacceptable.

Following a viral video, the First Lady urged the Nigeria Police Force to act quickly.

She called on security agencies to arrest and prosecute everyone involved.

According to her, the acts seen in the video clearly violate human dignity. Therefore, authorities must not ignore them.

While she acknowledged Nigeria’s rich traditions, Oluremi Tinubu made her position clear.

No culture, she said, allows the abuse of women and girls.

Instead, cultural festivals should promote unity and respect. However, incidents like this damage that purpose and must stop.

The First Lady also commended the Nigeria Police Force for making initial arrests.

However, she urged them to go further. Authorities must carry out a full investigation and ensure justice.

This means identifying all suspects and prosecuting them without delay.

Meanwhile, Oluremi Tinubu encouraged victims to seek help.

She advised them to get:

  • Medical care
  • Psychological support

She also assured them that they are not alone. In addition, she prayed for their healing and strength.

The incident has sparked strong reactions across Nigeria.

Many Nigerians have demanded better protection for women and girls. As a result, calls for stronger safety measures at public events continue to grow.

Experts and stakeholders now want urgent action for better security at events, stronger crowd control and Strict punishment for offenders

Ultimately, these steps can help prevent similar incidents in the future.
