The darkly comic thriller One Battle After Another won Best Picture at the latest Academy Awards, leading the night with six awards.
The film shared major wins with the vampire drama Sinners, as both movies dominated the ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Director Paul Thomas Anderson celebrated his first Oscar victory after previously receiving 11 nominations without a win.
“Let’s have a martini! This is pretty amazing,” Anderson said on stage after the film was announced as Best Picture.
In addition to Best Picture, Anderson also won Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for the film.

The Warner Bros production stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a former revolutionary who becomes a cannabis-smoking single father raising a teenage child.
The film blends political satire with dark comedy, telling a story about resistance, family and the legacy left for the next generation.
While accepting the screenplay award, Anderson said the film carried a personal message.
He added that younger generations could help restore “common sense and decency.”
Actor Sean Penn won Best Supporting Actor for his role as an obsessive military officer in the film.
It marks Penn’s third Academy Award.
However, the actor, known for occasionally skipping Hollywood ceremonies — was not present at the Dolby Theatre when the award was announced.
