The Northern Governors’ Spouses’ Forum held its first quarterly meeting of 2026 in Zamfara State, reaffirming its commitment to improving the welfare of women, children, and vulnerable groups across the region.

The meeting took place on April 10, 2026, at the Zamfara State Government House. Hajiya Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya, wife of the Gombe State Governor, chaired the session. Spouses of governors from across Northern Nigeria attended.

Members reviewed ongoing activities and assessed progress made so far. They also discussed new strategies to strengthen community development and expand their social impact.

At the end of the meeting, the forum adopted key resolutions. Members agreed to continue borehole drilling projects across Northern states to improve access to clean water in underserved communities.

The forum also approved the introduction of a new project for 2026, although details remain undisclosed.

In addition, members agreed to mark International Charity Day annually on September 5. This aligns with global efforts to promote humanitarian support and charitable activities.

To improve coordination, the forum resolved to hold meetings every four months. The next meeting is scheduled for July or August 2026.

The forum reaffirmed its commitment to unity, collaboration, and people-centered development across Northern Nigeria.
