NIPR Invites NEMA DG to Maiden IWD Programme

A delegation of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations visited NEMA Director-General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, in Abuja.

The visit was to invite her to NIPR’s maiden International Women’s Day programme scheduled for March 2026.

The delegation was led by IWD Planning Committee Chair, Hajiya Lami Tumaka.

NIPR FCT Chairman, Mr. Stanley Ogadigo, also joined the courtesy visit.

The Institute said the invitation recognises Mrs. Umar’s impactful leadership and public service.

They praised her role in strengthening emergency management and national resilience.

The delegation also briefed the NEMA boss on Nigeria’s hosting of the World Public Relations Forum.

The global public relations event is scheduled to hold in Nigeria in November 2026.

Mrs. Zubaida Umar appreciated the visit and the invitation from the Institute.

She commended NIPR for promoting professionalism and inclusive leadership.

The NEMA DG reaffirmed the Agency’s support for initiatives that strengthen communication systems.

She said effective communication remains critical to disaster management and national preparedness.
