A renowned Islamic scholar, Professor Abdullahi Bappah Ahmad, has highlighted the numerous spiritual and personal benefits of observing night vigil prayers during the holy month of Ramadan.

The professor made this known while delivering his opening lecture at the 2026 Ramadan Tafsir held at Masjid Kagarawal in Gombe State.

He explained that night vigil prayers, which include Taraweeh and Tahajjud, provide Muslims with a special opportunity to draw closer to Allah, seek forgiveness, and attain immense rewards.

According to him, Ramadan offers a rare chance for believers to revive their spiritual lives, and standing in prayer at night demonstrates sincerity, patience, and devotion.

Professor Bappah Ahmad added that, beyond spiritual gains, night vigil also helps discipline the soul, promotes self-control, and brings inner peace and emotional stability.

He encouraged Muslims to take advantage of the blessed nights of Ramadan, stressing that those who observe night prayers with faith and hope for reward will have their past sins forgiven.

The scholar further urged the faithful to remain consistent throughout the month, noting that the habit of night prayer can transform lives and strengthen one’s relationship with Allah.

The Ramadan Tafsir continues daily at the mosque, drawing large numbers of worshippers seeking knowledge, guidance, and spiritual upliftment.
