A Northern-based cleric, Barrister Ishaq Adam Isahaq, has called on Nigerians to pursue their freedom through constitutional means rather than violence or unrest.
Speaking during a sermon in Kano city, the cleric emphasized that citizens have the right to vote and protect their votes. He urged people to channel their grievances through democratic processes rather than reacting in anger.
He encouraged Nigerians to respond to injustice by electing leaders who will safeguard their lives, dignity, and religious values.
Ishaq lamented what he described as worsening insecurity and injustice, noting that no society should tolerate the killings of dozens of its people.
He shared a disturbing account of a woman who allegedly recounted how she and her children were abducted and abused by kidnappers. The cleric described the incident as a grave violation of human dignity.
The cleric stressed that such incidents highlight the urgent need for change. He urged people across Nigeria to actively participate in elections to shape leadership.
He concluded by encouraging voters to come out in large numbers and use the ballot box to demand accountability.
