The Federal Government has rejected claims that Nigeria is on the verge of collapse.

Mohammed Idris stated that the country remains stable, resilient, and on a path to recovery.

He spoke at the 81st General Assembly of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria in Abuja.

Idris dismissed suggestions that Nigeria faces imminent breakdown.

He said the country continues to tackle security and economic challenges with measurable progress.

He added that coordinated operations have reduced insurgent control in several areas.

He said agencies now use stronger intelligence and faster response systems.

Idris said current economic indicators show signs of recovery and growing investor confidence.

He noted that foreign reserves are improving while reforms expand revenue streams.

He added that ongoing policies aim to stabilise public finances and improve transparency.

He also cited Nigeria’s return to Frontier Market status by FTSE Russell.

He said the reclassification reflects better liquidity, transparency, and capital flow conditions.

The minister urged journalists to report responsibly as Nigeria approaches another election cycle.

He said broadcasters must inform, educate, and unite citizens with accuracy and fairness.

He described the media as a critical pillar for national cohesion and democratic stability.

Idris reaffirmed the government’s support for a free and responsible media environment.

He called for stronger collaboration to tackle misinformation and promote unity.

He said national progress requires trust, patriotism, and balanced narratives.

The event attracted key stakeholders, including Joash Amupitan and heads of major broadcast institutions.

Participants discussed ways to strengthen professionalism and advance the media industry.
