The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Manasseh Daniel Jatau, to strengthen collaboration on disaster management and humanitarian response.
During the visit on March 12, 2026, the Head of Operations at the NEMA Gombe Operations Office, Ummuna Ahmed, commended the state government for its continued support for humanitarian and disaster management activities.
She noted that the cooperation between the agency and the state government has helped improve responses to emergencies affecting vulnerable communities.

Ahmed also informed the Deputy Governor about NEMA’s planned humanitarian intervention for internally displaced persons from Bauchi State currently taking refuge in Akko Local Government Area.
She requested the support and approval of the state government to enable NEMA supervise the distribution of relief materials to the affected persons.
In response, Jatau thanked NEMA for its proactive interventions and support to vulnerable populations.
He assured the agency of the Gombe State Government’s continued cooperation and confirmed that NEMA would supervise the distribution of relief materials to the displaced persons.
The Deputy Governor also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to partnering with NEMA in addressing disaster-related challenges and assisting displaced communities across the state.
