NEMA Delivers Relief Materials to Fire Victims in Kano

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed relief materials to victims of recent fire incidents in Kibiya Local Government Area and Fatima Simra Multipurpose Market, Kano State

The exercise, conducted through the NEMA Kano Operations Office in collaboration with the Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), was flagged off by the Kano State Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Alhaji Adamu Kibiya.

Speaking during the distribution, the Commissioner commended NEMA for its swift intervention and lauded the Federal Government’s continued support for disaster-affected communities in the state.

Representing the NEMA Director General, Hajiya Zubaida Umar, the Head of Operations in Kano, Dr. Nuraddeen Abdullahi, said the assistance — which included rice, maize, spaghetti, and condiments — was aimed at cushioning the impact of the disaster and helping victims rebuild their livelihoods.

Dr. Abdullahi reiterated NEMA’s commitment to strengthening disaster response and preparedness efforts nationwide.

The event was attended by government officials, community leaders, and beneficiaries who expressed appreciation for the timely intervention
