The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has issued an Air Operator Certificate to Binani Air Global Services.
The certification allows the airline to commence scheduled commercial flight operations in Nigeria.
The AOC was presented on March 18, 2026 during a ceremony held in Abuja.
Director-General of Civil Aviation Chris Najomo described the certification as a major milestone.
Najomo said the development marks the emergence of a female-led airline in Nigeria’s aviation sector.

He commended the resilience of the airline’s management during the rigorous certification process.
The DG praised the airline’s founder Aishatu Binani Dahiru for her persistence.
According to him, the airline consistently met regulatory requirements throughout the certification process.
Najomo noted that receiving an Air Operator Certificate is only the beginning of operational responsibilities.
He advised the airline to maintain professionalism and strict adherence to aviation safety standards.
In her remarks, Binani thanked the aviation authority for its guidance and professionalism.
She described the certification process as challenging but ultimately rewarding for the airline.
Binani also acknowledged support from Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo.
She said government policies supporting aviation growth contributed significantly to the airline’s success.
