NBA Condemns Plateau Killings, Demands Urgent Action

The Nigerian Bar Association has strongly condemned the recent killings in Jos, Plateau State.

The association described the Palm Sunday attack as gruesome and deeply troubling.

NBA President Afam Osigwe said the violence reflects worsening insecurity.

He noted that the attack occurred on a sacred day for Christians, making it even more heartbreaking.

The NBA said the recurring nature of such attacks points to a culture of impunity.

It warned that failure to bring perpetrators to justice weakens public confidence in government.

The association called on security agencies to identify and prosecute those responsible.

It also urged both federal and state governments to strengthen security in vulnerable communities.

The NBA emphasised that protecting lives and property remains the primary duty of government.

It raised concerns over threats to the constitutional right to life.

The association extended condolences to victims’ families and the people of Plateau State.

It called for justice, support for victims, and proactive measures to prevent future attacks.
