Namadi Takes Custody of Walida from DSS

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has taken custody of Walida Abdulhadi Ibrahim from the Department of State Services.

The governor received Walida at the DSS headquarters in Abuja late Tuesday night.

He said issues surrounding her abduction would be addressed through the courts.

Governor Namadi assured that justice would be served in line with due process.

He described Walida as a daughter of Jigawa State deserving protection and care.

The governor pledged to ensure her safety and full recovery from possible trauma.

He was accompanied by senior Jigawa State officials to the DSS headquarters.

They included the Speaker of the State Assembly, Haruna Aliyu.

Also present were the Attorney General, Bello Abdulkadir Fanini, and Women Affairs Commissioner, Hadiza Abdulwahab.

The DSS Director-General, Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, formally handed Walida to the governor.

Principal officers of the security agency witnessed the handover.

The Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs attended the event.

The council was represented by its Deputy National Legal Adviser and senior committee members.
