The Anambra State Police Command has raised concerns about security operatives hiding their identities while protecting high-profile individuals.

Police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga stated that wearing masks during routine or public duties makes it difficult to confirm the legitimacy of these operatives. The police warned that criminals could exploit this practice by posing as security personnel, putting public safety at risk.

Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu emphasized that clearly identifiable personnel are crucial for coordination among security agencies and maintaining public trust. He noted that masking without proper authorization undermines accountability and weakens security efforts.

The command urged all security agencies to ensure their personnel remain properly identified at all times, except during officially approved tactical operations. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to professionalism, transparency, and the protection of lives and property across the state.
