The Bauchi State Police Command has rescued a middle-aged man who was allegedly chained by his biological father for 17 years in Shadawanka village, Bauchi State.
The rescue followed a tip-off from concerned residents who alerted authorities about the disturbing situation.
According to reports, the victim was found in chains and living in isolation for nearly two decades before police operatives intervened and freed him.
The father was subsequently arrested and taken into custody for questioning over the alleged abuse. Authorities said the victim has been removed from the scene and is receiving necessary care and attention.
