The Kogi State Government has unveiled two high-capacity PH20 surveillance drones as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen security operations and improve intelligence gathering across the state.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo presented the advanced security equipment on Monday at the 12 Brigade Headquarters, Chari-Maigumeri Barracks, Lokoja, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to adopting modern technology to tackle criminal activities in line with global best practices.
The governor said the deployment of the drones would enhance real-time surveillance, improve response time to security threats, and support coordinated operations among security agencies operating in the state.

According to him, the initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening intelligence-led policing, monitoring hard-to-reach areas, and preventing criminal activities such as banditry, kidnapping and armed robbery.
Governor Ododo stressed that security remains a top priority for his administration, noting that sustainable development cannot thrive without peace and safety.
Security officials at the event commended the state government for investing in modern security infrastructure, describing the drones as critical tools that will significantly improve situational awareness and operational effectiveness.
They assured the government of continued collaboration to ensure the effective deployment and utilization of the surveillance equipment to protect lives and property across Kogi State.
