Kawu Sumaila Distributes 15,000 Bags of Rice, 200 Vehicles

The Senator representing Kano South, Suleiman Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, has distributed 15,000 bags of rice across the district.

He also handed over 100 tricycles and 100 motorcycles to constituents.

The distribution formed part of his Ramadan support and empowerment programme.

Each local government area in Kano South received 500 bags of rice.

Additional allocations went to community groups and associations.

The tricycles and motorcycles target small-scale transport operators.

The initiative aims to boost income and economic self-reliance.

Speaking at the event, the senator linked the intervention to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said the programme supports social investment and economic revitalisation.

The event attracted senior political leaders and party officials.

Among them was Deputy Senate President Barau I. Jibrin.

Also present was the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Isma’il Falgore.

Community leaders described the intervention as significant for the region.

They said the support would ease economic pressures during Ramadan.
