Kaduna Governor Assents to ₦985.9bn 2026 Budget

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has assented to the 2026 Appropriation Bill, approving a total expenditure of ₦985.9 billion for the state.

The governor, who signed the bill into law on Monday, said the budget—titled “Consolidation of Transformation for Inclusive Development”—allocates ₦698.9 billion, representing 70.9 per cent, to capital expenditure, while ₦287 billion, or 29.1 per cent, is set aside for recurrent spending.

According to Governor Sani, the spending framework reflects the administration’s focus on accelerating development, strengthening state institutions, and improving service delivery across Kaduna State.

He commended the Kaduna State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Liman, for the timely consideration and passage of the budget, describing the legislature’s cooperation as critical to sustaining effective governance.

The governor also acknowledged the role of the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission and other stakeholders, noting that their input and professionalism ensured the budget aligns with the development priorities and needs of the people.

Governor Sani called on residents of the state to continue supporting government policies and programmes as the implementation phase begins, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to inclusive development and long-term socio-economic transformation.

The 2026 budget is expected to drive infrastructure development and public service delivery in the state in the coming fiscal year.
