IWD: Adeniyi Celebrates NCS Women with Surprise Event

The Adewale Adeniyi has honoured female officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

The event marked the 2026 International Women’s Day celebration at the Customs House in Maitama, Abuja.

It featured a surprise appreciation ceremony recognising the contributions of women within the Service.

Female officers and members of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association were presented with roses during the event.

Adeniyi said the initiative was designed to move beyond routine celebrations and recognise women’s contributions.

He noted that recognition should not be limited to formal occasions or calendar events.

The Comptroller-General described women as central to the operations of the Customs Service.

He commended their resilience, professionalism and dedication across various roles nationwide.

Adeniyi also highlighted the paramilitary nature of the organisation while emphasising inclusion.

He said the Service remains committed to recognising merit regardless of gender.

In her remarks, Kikelomo Adeniyi praised the initiative.

She described the event as an important moment to celebrate women’s contributions to the Service.

Kikelomo said women play active roles in supporting and advancing the Customs Service.

She added that empowering women is key to building stronger institutions and communities.
