The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, on Thursday received three key delegations at the State Command Headquarters as part of ongoing efforts to enhance security collaboration, strengthen human rights partnerships, and deepen media engagement in the state.
In separate meetings, CP Bakori hosted representatives from the Kano State Chamber of Commerce, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), and Dala FM Radio, assuring the Command’s commitment to joint efforts aimed at promoting peace, protecting rights, and fostering public enlightenment.
During the visit by the Chairperson of the Sub-Security Committee, Kano State Chamber of Commerce, Hajia Aisha Sulaiman Baffa, discussions centered on security arrangements ahead of the upcoming Kano Trade Fair. Baffa described the trade fair as the second most attended event in the state after the Sallah celebrations and sought the Command’s support to ensure a safe and orderly exercise.

Responding, CP Bakori pledged full security support for the event, emphasizing that maintaining safety during public gatherings is a shared responsibility.
“We will engage with you professionally, offer the necessary advice, and ensure your event is adequately secured,” he assured.
In a separate engagement, CP Bakori received Dr. Benedict Agu, Special Adviser to the Executive Secretary and Head of Monitoring Department, as well as Mr. Shehu Abdullahi, Kano State Coordinator of the NHRC, who led a delegation to discuss ongoing collaboration between the Commission and the Police Command.
Dr. Agu reaffirmed the NHRC’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with the Police in the promotion and protection of human rights, particularly through joint training and advocacy initiatives.
In his remarks, CP Bakori restated the Force’s commitment to upholding human rights, noting that respect for citizens’ dignity remains central to modern policing.
“The protection and promotion of human rights remain a core responsibility of the Police. We will continue to cooperate fully with the Commission to achieve this goal,” he said.
Later in the day, the Commissioner met with the Station Manager and representatives of Dala FM 88.5 Kano for a media interaction focused on security awareness and public sensitization. He highlighted the critical role of the media in crime prevention and in strengthening police-community relations.
CP Bakori expressed appreciation to all delegations for their visits and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining peace, protecting lives and property, and fostering collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
“Our partnerships with organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Human Rights Commission, and the media are vital to achieving our collective goal of ensuring security and public trust in Kano State,” he concluded.
