The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suspended its South-South Zonal Vice Chairman, Mr. Aniete Etuk, over allegations of misconduct and breach of the party’s constitution.
In a statement released by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), the ADC said the decision followed a disciplinary panel report that found Etuk guilty of acts detrimental to the unity and integrity of the party.
According to the statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Bamidele Ajadi, Etuk was accused of holding unauthorized meetings and making statements that undermined the authority of the national leadership.
“The ADC has approved the suspension of Mr. Aniete Etuk pending further investigation by the National Executive Committee,” the statement read. “The party remains committed to discipline and internal democracy.”
Reacting to the development, Etuk denied the allegations, describing his suspension as “unfair and politically motivated.”
“I was not given a fair hearing. This is just an attempt to silence me for standing by the truth,” he said.
The party has urged members in the South-South zone to remain calm and continue supporting its leadership as it works toward greater unity ahead of future elections.
