Member of the House of Representatives representing Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, Hon. Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, has announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing persistent internal crises and factionalisation within the party.
In a statement released on Monday, Abdullahi said the ongoing divisions within the PDP had made it difficult for him to effectively discharge his legislative duties and serve his constituents optimally.

“This decision is driven by my commitment to continue serving the people of Sabon Gari Federal Constituency beyond partisan lines, ensuring that all constituents benefit from purposeful, inclusive, and effective representation,” Abdullahi added.
The lawmaker expressed appreciation to the PDP for the platform and opportunities it provided, describing his time in the party as valuable and impactful.
“I wish to sincerely thank the PDP for the privilege and opportunity to serve under its platform. The support, trust, and experiences I have gained during my time with the party have been invaluable,” he said.
Abdullahi has not yet indicated his next political move or whether he plans to join another party.
