Former governor of Kano State and immediate past national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has declared that the party in the state remains firmly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration.

Ganduje made the remarks on Thursday during an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Kano, where he addressed party leaders, members, and loyalists. He commended the President for what he described as bold reforms to reposition the country and acknowledged appointments given to party members from Kano as a sign of inclusiveness.

“We are here to examine the progress we have made and to assure Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that our party in Kano State is solidly behind him,” Ganduje said.

“We appreciate his policy reforms, the good work he is doing for the country and for Kano State, and the appointments he has made for our people.”

The former governor recalled the party’s performance in the last election, noting that while APC narrowly lost in Kano, its structures had remained “intact and solid.”

He credited Tinubu’s policies and the party’s “political dexterity” for drawing heavyweight politicians from rival camps into the APC fold.

According to him, recent defections include members of the State House of Assembly, former commissioners, federal lawmakers, and even a former secretary of the present Kano State government.

“With these developments, the APC in Kano is stronger and continues to grow in numbers and influence. We are attracting more stakeholders every day, and our party is going from strength to strength,” Ganduje added.
