The Chief Imam of Al-Irfan Masjid in Bauchi, Imam Junaidu, has called on Nigerian youth to remain steadfast and committed to positive values in all aspects of their lives.
He made the appeal during the mosque’s weekly Islamic class, where he emphasized the importance of unity, focus, and discipline among young people. According to him, youth must see themselves as critical stakeholders in nation-building and strive to contribute meaningfully to society.
Imam Junaidu cautioned against engaging in negative behaviors such as blackmail, gossip, and backbiting, noting that such actions only weaken social cohesion and hinder progress. He urged young people to uphold moral integrity and support one another in pursuit of collective growth.
Describing youth as the backbone of any society, the cleric encouraged them to channel their energy into productive ventures and community development, adding that they have the potential to achieve great things if properly guided.
He further reminded them of the transient nature of worldly life, stressing that beyond this life lies the hereafter. He urged them to remain conscious of their actions and live in accordance with values that will benefit them both in this world and the life to come.
The weekly class attracted a large number of young attendees, many of whom expressed appreciation for the guidance and encouragement offered by the Imam.
