The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has emerged fourth out of more than 200 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the Federal Government Website Performance Scorecard for 2024/2025.

The ranking was announced during a public presentation of the scorecard organised by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) in collaboration with the Inter-Ministerial Task Team (IMTT). The assessment evaluated the functionality, efficiency, accessibility and compliance of MDA websites across the country.

Speaking at the event, the ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, represented by the Commission’s spokesperson, Mr. John Okor Odey, attributed the performance to the Commission’s sustained investment in information and communication technology. He noted that the ICPC had previously ranked first on two occasions in earlier editions of the scorecard.

Dr. Aliyu also commended the BPSR and other technology-driven institutions for their role in promoting digital governance and transitioning public service operations from paper-based systems to automated platforms. He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to continued collaboration with relevant stakeholders in strengthening transparency, accountability and digital reforms in Nigeria.

In his remarks, the Director-General of the BPSR, Dr. Dasuki Arabi, said the website performance scorecard was designed to strengthen transparency, accountability and good governance by ensuring public access to accurate and timely information from MDAs.

Dr. Arabi described the initiative as part of the Federal Government’s broader commitment to openness, citizen engagement and improved service delivery, stressing that functional websites are essential tools for effective communication and governance in the digital age.

He explained that the BPSR developed a standardised scorecard template to align MDA websites with global best practices. The scorecard also serves as a key performance indicator under the National e-Government Master Plan for assessing Nigeria’s progress in e-governance.

According to him, fully standardised and functional websites would enhance information access, reduce human interface, curb corruption in public financial transactions and mitigate online scams.

Dr. Arabi added that the 2024/2025 results reflect notable improvements in compliance and functionality across MDAs, indicating steady progress in Nigeria’s public sector digital transformation efforts.
