The Gombe State Youth Parliament on Thursday held its 3rd Plenary Sitting at the Gombe State House of Assembly, in what observers described as a strong reflection of growing democratic engagement among young leaders in the state.

The sitting, which took place on February 26, 2026, brought together youth representatives from across Gombe State to deliberate on issues affecting young people and the state’s broader development priorities.

Presiding over the session, Speaker Rt. Hon. Aliyu Danladi emphasized the importance of dialogue, debate, and policy-driven discussions in shaping responsible leadership among the youth. He noted that the Youth Parliament remains a vital civic platform for nurturing future leaders and promoting constructive participation in democratic governance.

During the plenary, members engaged in robust deliberations centered on youth empowerment, education, employment opportunities, and community development initiatives. The discussions underscored the need for innovative, youth-focused policies to address emerging socio-economic challenges in the state.

The 3rd Sitting further reinforced the Youth Parliament’s role as a training ground for leadership development, legislative procedure, and policy advocacy. Stakeholders say the continued sittings demonstrate a strengthening institutional culture of accountability, representation, and active civic engagement among young people in Gombe State.

The Gombe State Youth Parliament is designed to mirror legislative processes, offering young citizens firsthand experience in governance while amplifying youth voices in public policy conversations.
