Gombe State University (GSU) has inducted seven newly qualified pharmacy graduates at a Supplementary Oath-Taking and Induction Ceremony held on 15 January 2026.

The event was organised by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences for graduates of the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) programme, marking their formal entry into the pharmacy profession.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sani Ahmed Yauta, was represented at the ceremony by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Danladi Muhammed Umar. Other top university officials in attendance included the Registrar, Dr. Abubakar Bafeto; the University Librarian, Dr. Henry Maina Abareh; and the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Hajjagana Hamza, alongside other senior staff members.

Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Danladi Umar congratulated the new pharmacists on completing their studies successfully. He urged them to uphold professionalism, discipline, and ethical standards in their practice, noting that they now represent both Gombe State University and Gombe State wherever they work.

The Acting Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Abdulwahab Aliyu, thanked the university management for its continuous support to the Faculty. He disclosed that the Faculty is currently benefiting from a Special High-Impact TETFund Intervention Project, aimed at strengthening teaching and learning.

Dr. Aliyu also revealed that since the establishment of the B.Pharm programme, the Faculty has produced a total of 129 pharmacy graduates, contributing to Nigeria’s growing healthcare workforce.

On accreditation, he confirmed that the B.Pharm programme has full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC), while approval from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) remains valid until November 2026.

The ceremony ended with renewed assurance of GSU’s commitment to quality pharmaceutical education and the training of competent healthcare professionals.
