Governor Hyacinth Alia has declared total war on insecurity in Benue State.
He made the statement on Monday after receiving a briefing from security commanders. The briefing focused on deploying additional security personnel to troubled communities.
The new security operation covers Kwande and other affected local government areas.
Governor Alia praised security agencies for their efforts to restore calm. He said the new deployment marks the start of stronger action against criminals.

The governor warned that security forces would hunt down bandits and other attackers across the state. He also promised to protect the people, their farms, and their communities.
Alia said his government will continue to support security operations until peace returns to every part of Benue.
“I will not be intimidated or discouraged. We will crush insecurity in Benue State,” the governor said.
Security agencies have already moved into the affected communities. The operation aims to restore peace and protect residents.
