Governor Sim Fubara has dissolved the State Executive Council with immediate effect.
The directive affects all commissioners and special advisers serving in the administration.

They have been instructed to hand over to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries.
Where no permanent secretary is available, they are to hand over to the most senior officer.
The governor did not immediately state reasons for the dissolution.
Further announcements regarding reconstitution of the council are expected.
