The Gombe State Information Technology and Digital Economy Commission (GOSIDEC), in collaboration with the Gombe State Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, has intensified efforts to strengthen digital governance through a high-level capacity-building workshop focused on IT infrastructure asset management and e-Governance migration.

The workshop, held on February 24, 2026, at the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Zonal Office in Gombe, brought together key stakeholders driving the state’s digital transformation agenda, including ICT professionals, senior technical officers, and representatives from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Abdullahi Bappah Garkuwa, described the workshop as a major milestone in the state’s journey toward building a digitally enabled and service-oriented government.

He emphasized that sustained investment in ICT infrastructure, human capital, and governance frameworks would position Gombe as a leader in technology-driven governance.

“With deliberate and sustained investments in digital infrastructure and capacity development, we are laying a solid foundation for a smarter, more connected, and more prosperous future for our people,” he said.

In his remarks, the Director-General of GOSIDEC, Dr. Al-Amin Umar Barambu, noted that the initiative was designed to enhance technical capacity, promote global best practices in IT asset management, and accelerate the migration of government services to secure and citizen-focused digital platforms.

He added that the programme aligns with the vision of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to leverage technology to promote transparency, efficiency, accountability, and inclusive development.

The workshop featured expert-led sessions on modern IT infrastructure management, data security, system integration, and digital service delivery, equipping participants with practical skills to optimize government digital assets and support sustainable e-Governance implementation.

The initiative marks another step in Gombe State’s drive to modernize public service delivery and build a resilient digital economy.
