Senator Mohammed Danjuma Goje (Gombe Central) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the dualisation of the Akwanga, Jos, Bauchi and Gombe highway, describing it as a major boost for national integration and economic growth.
Speaking during plenary at the Senate, Goje said the project would significantly improve mobility, enhance trade, and accelerate socio-economic development across Nasarawa, Plateau, Bauchi, and Gombe states. He made the remarks while contributing to a motion on the road project sponsored by Senator Abdul Ningi.
The former Gombe State governor recalled that in 2024 he had raised concerns over the exclusion of the North East from major federal road projects under the Renewed Hope agenda, urging the Federal Government to address the imbalance.
According to Goje, the approval of the highway reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to equitable development and inclusive infrastructure planning across all regions of the country.
