President Adama Barrow of The Gambia has highlighted his country’s openness to “genuine investors ready for win-win partnerships that benefit both the country and investors,” speaking at the 9th Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) in Abuja.

He commended Nigeria’s leadership for convening the summit and described energy as a foundation for peace, prosperity, stability, and Africa’s industrial growth.

The Gambia’s Petroleum and Energy Minister, Nani Juwara, encouraged investors to explore the country’s growing energy sector.

Foreign Minister Sering Modou Njie emphasized the nation’s shift toward economic diplomacy and people-to-people engagement.

President Barrow noted that The Gambia has been actively gathering sector data and promoting opportunities, leveraging its strategic location as a gateway for re-export trade, an independent judiciary, and its reputation as one of Africa’s safest and most stable countries.
