FRSC Orders Probe Into Viral Altercation in Edo State

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has ordered an immediate investigation into a viral video showing an altercation between some of its officers and a driver along Abudu, Edo State, on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, in a statement released on Sunday, expressed deep concern over the incident and directed a full inquiry to determine the circumstances surrounding the confrontation.

He said the Corps would not tolerate any act of indiscipline or unprofessional behavior capable of tarnishing its image. Mohammed assured the public that appropriate sanctions would be imposed on any officer found guilty, in line with FRSC’s operational code and public service regulations.

While calling for calm, the Corps Marshal urged motorists to continue to cooperate with road safety officials in the discharge of their duties, stressing that the FRSC remains committed to ensuring safety on Nigeria’s highways.

He, however, warned that the Corps would not condone any form of assault or violence against its personnel in the course of duty.

The FRSC has reiterated its resolve to maintain professionalism, promote road safety, and protect lives across the country.
