Vice President Kashim Shettima has reaffirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration remains focused on building inclusive prosperity through enterprise-driven reforms aimed at empowering Nigerian entrepreneurs.

Shettima stated this on Tuesday in Katsina during the launch of the 9th Expanded National MSME Clinic, where he announced the President’s approval of a ₦250,000 non-repayable grant for each outstanding micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) exhibiting at the event.

The Vice President said the intervention reflects the President’s commitment to strengthening the backbone of Nigeria’s economy through innovation and enterprise. He also highlighted other initiatives, including a ₦75 billion Manufacturers Fund and the ₦5 billion Katsina State MSME Growth Fund, which has already disbursed ₦576 million to 237 beneficiaries since June 2024.

Shettima commended Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for his leadership in enterprise development, describing the establishment of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA) as a model for subnational economic transformation.

Under the Rural Area Programme on Investment for Development (RAPID), he noted that 23 rural MSMEs in Katsina had received ₦112 million in funding support.

Earlier, Governor Radda reiterated his administration’s commitment to nurturing over 100,000 small businesses across the state, emphasizing that MSMEs remain central to job creation and economic growth.

Special Adviser to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs, Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, said the Federal Government is working with stakeholders to ease access to finance and markets for small business owners nationwide.

Ministers of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, and Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, also commended Katsina’s commitment to capacity building and enterprise development.

The Vice President later commissioned the dual carriage Central Mosque–Kofar Murasa–WTC Road 4 and the Katsina Agricultural Data and Control Center (KASPA), describing them as symbols of innovation and foresight in governance.

Shettima had earlier attended the maiden Katsina MSME Awards and the Dikko Innovation Academy graduation, where he urged the people to embrace Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and sustain the state’s legacy in education and enterprise.
