Activities at the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Secretariat and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) have been grounded following the commencement of an indefinite strike by the Joint Union Action Committee (JUAC) over demands for improved working conditions.

As early as Monday morning, the main gates of both secretariats were locked, preventing staff and visitors from gaining access to the complexes. The action effectively halted official activities and routine administrative operations.

Many workers reportedly stayed away from work in strict compliance with the industrial action, as unions intensified pressure on management to address longstanding welfare and workplace concerns.

The Chairperson of the Joint Union Action Committee urged members to maintain solidarity and sustain the strike until further directives are issued by the union leadership.

Meanwhile, long queues of vehicles were observed along adjoining roads leading to the secretariats, reflecting the total shutdown of activities and the unions’ resolve to press home their demands.
