The Independent National Electoral Commission has uploaded 92.2 per cent of polling unit results from the chairmanship elections in the Federal Capital Territory to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

As of 5:55am on Sunday, INEC had published 2,602 results out of the 2,822 expected across the six area councils. This update shows steady progress in the collation process.

First, the Municipal Area Council recorded the highest number of uploads. INEC posted 1,309 of 1,401 polling unit results, which equals 93.43 per cent.

Similarly, Gwagwalada Area Council achieved the highest upload rate. The council uploaded 330 of 338 results, reaching 97.63 per cent completion.

In Bwari Area Council, INEC uploaded 463 of 485 results. This represents 95.46 per cent of the expected total.

Also, Abaji Area Council recorded 129 uploads from 135 polling units. That figure stands at 95.56 per cent.

However, Kwali Area Council and Kuje Area Council trailed behind the others. Kwali uploaded 164 of 201 results, giving it 81.59 per cent. Meanwhile, Kuje posted 207 of 262 results, which equals 79.01 per cent.

Overall, most councils crossed the 90 per cent mark before Sunday morning. However, Kwali and Kuje still need to upload more results to reach full completion.

INEC continues to update the IReV portal to improve transparency. As a result, residents and stakeholders can track polling unit results in near real time.
