Eid: Gombe Emirate Showcases Culture, Calls for Unity

The Gombe Emirate marked Eid with a grand cultural display that highlighted its rich heritage and royal tradition.

At the centre of the event was the Emir of Gombe, Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III. He appeared in regal traditional attire that reflected his status and legacy.

He wore flowing robes and an embroidered turban, symbolising centuries of leadership.

Title holders, palace guards, and cultural performers stood around him. They dressed in colourful traditional outfits that reflected the Emirate’s customs.

Drummers entertained the crowd with rhythmic beats. Horse riders also performed coordinated displays, adding colour and excitement to the event.

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya attended the ceremony with top government officials. Their presence showed support for unity and respect for tradition.

Residents who watched the event expressed gratitude and prayed for lasting peace in Nigeria. They also called for unity among citizens.

Speaking at the event, the Emir thanked the Gombe State Government for its support. He urged leaders to continue delivering good governance.

He also reflected on his reign as he approaches the final phase of his leadership ahead of 2027.

The event celebrated history, leadership, and the enduring culture of the Gombe Emirate.
