“Corruption is like a cancer that affects every part of society,” he said.

“It has no borders, so countries must work together to fight it.”

He added that the EFCC remains committed to returning recovered assets to their rightful owners.

The commission also called on international partners to respond quickly to requests for cooperation in cross-border investigations.

During the ceremony, Fukuda received funds on behalf of American victims of fraud.

The recovered funds included $7,440, $15,000 and $175,895, as well as ₦62.79 million, which were linked to multiple fraud cases.

Similarly, Mminele received $50,000 on behalf of Ennis-Flint Africa Limited, a South African firm affected by fraud.

The company’s lawyer, Elisha Sunday, also attended the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mminele praised the EFCC for recovering the funds and returning them to victims.

She said South Africa appreciates the cooperation between the EFCC and international partners.

Fukuda also commended the commission’s work in securing restitution for victims of financial crimes.

He described the EFCC as a world-class agency and reaffirmed the FBI’s commitment to continued collaboration.

Officials say asset recovery and restitution remain key parts of Nigeria’s efforts to combat economic and financial crimes.
