EFCC Deploys Operatives to Monitor FCT Council Elections

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has deployed its operatives across the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory to monitor Saturday’s council elections.

The deployment aims to curb vote buying and other electoral offences and to protect the integrity of the polls.

The Executive Chairman of the Commission, Ola Olukoyede, directed the officers to maintain strict surveillance in all council areas.

He instructed them to prevent voter inducement and ensure that the election process remains transparent and accountable.

EFCC officers are stationed across the FCT to support lawful conduct and safeguard the credibility of the electoral exercise.

The Commission said the operation forms part of its wider effort to promote clean elections and discourage financial crimes linked to the voting process.
