Dr Jameel Urges Influencers, Journalists to Report Responsibly

Islamic scholar Dr. Jameel Muhammad Sadis has called on influencers and journalists to communicate responsibly and act as ambassadors of peace.

Dr. Sadis made the appeal during a lecture, emphasizing the critical role that media and digital influencers play in influencing public views and maintaining national stability.

He said Nigeria is currently in a delicate period that requires caution, responsibility, and professionalism in sharing information.

“Being responsible in communication is very important,” he said. He urged media professionals and social media influencers to promote messages that encourage peace, unity, and stability.

Dr. Sadis warned that careless or sensational reporting could worsen societal tensions, especially during sensitive political times.

He encouraged journalists and digital content creators to focus on accurate, fair, and careful reporting to help keep the country safe and united ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In addition, he advised that media houses and influencers verify information before sharing it, avoid spreading rumors, and highlight positive stories that foster national cohesion. He noted that responsible communication not only protects public trust but also strengthens democracy in Nigeria.
