Defence Minister Charges Senior Army Officers on Stronger Inter-Agency Collaboration

Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), has urged newly promoted senior officers of the Nigerian Army to strengthen collaboration with other security agencies as part of efforts to address the country’s complex security challenges.

Speaking at the investiture ceremony of 28 newly decorated Major Generals and Brigadier Generals, the Minister said seamless inter-agency cooperation remains crucial to improving operational effectiveness and safeguarding national and regional stability.

General Musa reiterated that Nigeria’s security landscape requires a unified front, adding that the officers must demonstrate leadership, discipline and strategic thinking in their new roles.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, called for intensified efforts in confronting emerging threats across the country. He noted that the Army must remain proactive in tackling insecurity and responding to rising political instability within the West African sub-region.
