The Nigeria Customs Service has called on industry stakeholders to support the implementation of the National Single Window (NSW) project aimed at modernising Nigeria’s trade system.
Comptroller-General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi made the appeal during a stakeholder engagement with airline and shipping operators in Abuja on March 4.

According to the Customs chief, collaboration with key stakeholders will be vital for the successful rollout of the digital platform.
He said the initiative forms part of Nigeria’s broader trade reform programme and will help position the country as a competitive player in global commerce.
Adeniyi noted that airline and shipping operators remain critical partners in ensuring a smooth transition to the new system.
He also assured participants that support structures would be available to ease the migration process.
“A help desk with trained personnel will be available to address operational challenges during the rollout,” he said.
Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of ICT and Modernisation, Oluyomi Adebakin, described the National Single Window as a key milestone in Customs’ modernisation efforts.
She explained that the project would improve efficiency, transparency and speed in cargo clearance and trade documentation.
Meanwhile, the project director, Tola Fakolade, acknowledged Customs’ leadership in coordinating the implementation process.
Officials say the initiative will strengthen trade facilitation, improve revenue collection and enhance inter-agency coordination.
