The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has graduated 100 middle cadre officers from the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, as part of efforts to strengthen leadership capacity, operational efficiency and strategic management across the Service.

The officers, drawn from Senior Course 13 and Junior Course 23, completed their programmes on Friday, December 12, 2025, at a ceremony attended by senior Customs officers, instructors and invited guests.

Representing the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of Finance, Administration and Technical Services, Kikelomo Adeola, congratulated the graduates and charged them to deploy the skills acquired to improve service delivery in their various Commands and units.

Adeola said capacity building remains central to the Customs modernisation agenda, stressing that officers trained at the College are expected to translate their learning into measurable improvements across the Service. She also urged the graduates to uphold professionalism, discipline and integrity, noting that they would serve as role models for younger officers.

Earlier, the Commandant of the College, Assistant Comptroller-General Dow Gaura, said the successful completion of the courses reflected the discipline, resilience and intellectual rigour of the officers. He noted that the College plays a critical role in professionalising the NCS workforce through a structured curriculum aligned with international best practices, covering customs law, leadership, operations management and strategic studies.

Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Assistant Comptroller of Customs Umar Garba, Course Senior of Senior Course 13, described the programme as transformative, saying it enhanced their leadership skills, deepened their understanding of customs procedures and broadened their perspective on inter-agency collaboration and national security.

Highlights of the ceremony included a guard of honour, presentation of certificates and awards to outstanding officers. The graduation followed a Regimental Dinner Night held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, to mark the completion of the three-month Junior Course and six-month Senior Course training programmes.
