The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Wednesday, December 18, 2025, commissioned a mega Nigerian Army Post Exchange (NAPEX) super store at the TA Lagbaja Cantonment, Ikeja, Lagos State.

The facility, developed by Nigerian Army Welfare Limited by Guarantee (NAWLG), is aimed at expanding access to affordable goods for personnel, their families, and surrounding communities.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Group Managing Director of NAWLG, Major General Ahmed Ibrahim Taiwo (retd.), said the Army is repositioning its welfare-driven subsidiaries—NAPEX and the Nigerian Army Drug Manufacturing Company (NADMACO)—to operate as more efficient and profitable ventures.

According to him, the newly commissioned super store was designed to better serve the growing barracks population and neighbouring communities by providing a wider range of goods at competitive prices.

Following the unveiling and cutting of the commissioning tape, the COAS toured the facility, accompanied by the GMD of NAWLG and the Managing Director of NAPEX, Brigadier General Jibrin Bawa Adams.

The event concluded with the presentation of souvenirs and group photographs.
