The U.S. Border Patrol has recorded multiple arrests of suspected violent offenders in Minnesota following the launch of a large-scale federal enforcement operation, according to Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino.
Speaking on the progress of the operation, Bovino said federal agents have targeted individuals with serious criminal records, stressing that those apprehended were not minor offenders.
“Since the start of this operation, we’ve arrested some of the most dangerous criminal offenders operating in Minnesota,” he said. “These are not minor violators or garden-variety criminals. These are repeat offenders with serious criminal histories.”
Bovino added that several of the arrests were carried out in urban areas, where authorities believe high-risk suspects were operating.
Federal officials say the operation is aimed at improving public safety by removing individuals considered a threat to communities.

However, the enforcement campaign has drawn public attention and criticism from civil rights groups and local leaders, who have raised concerns about the scale of the operation and its impact on residents.
Authorities have not yet released a full breakdown of the number of arrests or the identities of those detained, but officials say further updates will be provided as investigations continue.
